TESTIMONIALS

“Having done an Ironman and got no where near the time I had hoped 14hrs 20mins, I decided to go for it again the next year with the aim of beating my time. I decided to search for a coach and if honest was thinking of someone of my age that would understand the constraints of being 50 and having work / family commitments! A good friend put me onto Megan saying she was a great coach and when I saw her profile, which is impressive, I had my doubts as she was an elite athlete a few, more than a few, years younger than me. I couldn’t have been more wrong, from the beginning Megan listen to my aspirations and time available and set a clear program that fit my needs. Of course she pushed me, but you need that, importantly she knew when to advise me to rest or help me through injuries. Our weekly catch up and insight into nutrition and levels to push myself were really useful. And most importantly Megan improved my times and stamina in all three disciplines. The best show of how it paid of is I beat my previous time by 1hr 40mins, enjoyed it to a point and want to continue, all thanks to Megan’s help.

"Seeing Meg grow through the sport over the past decade has been a real pleasure. From her positive attitude on camps, the enjoyment she got from earning her first selection to a GBR team back in 2012 Meg always excelled in giving her best. More recently it has been great to see how proactive she has been to develop herself as a coach and how engaging she has been coming back into the national programme with this different responsibility. Meg has shown many great qualities to be a trusted and hugely valuable coach to others, regardless of ability or experience. "

Megan has been key to developing a consistency in my training, which has not only improved my FTP but also helped me achieve PBs in both 5km and 10km distances.

When we first met, Megan and I worked out my goals for the season and she focussed on the steps required to get there. We catch up once a week if not more. She listens to how I am feeling and has created a programme that works around me and my other responsibilities (I’m a full time working mum with a 4 and 8 year old) so that the plans really are tailored to me. With Megan’s support I have gained confidence in my abilities and managed to get through some tough training sessions and hard training weeks that I previously wouldn’t have thought possible.

Due to the Coronovirus pandemic, never has her intuitive and tailored approach been more important. Megan has made sure that I have goals to focus on to keep me motivated even though my races have all been cancelled, and worked around my hectic schedule of working from home and homeschooling 2 kids."

I first met Megan on a North West Academy training camp in Loughborough, when we were both in an active coaching role. I was really impressed with her enthusiasm, professionalism and positive attitude toward the athletes and her fellow coaches. She is clearly passionate about triathlon and this shone through in each and every session, whether pointing out things for athletes to be aware of, demonstrating good technique/skill herself or in her willingness to debate on best practices. We all had some great conversations about coaching and as an experienced triathlon coach myself it was obvious that any athlete lucky enough to work with her would benefit from her honest, approachable style and healthy commitment to improving performance. If you're looking for a good triathlon coach and especially if you're local to Meg, get in touch with her soon..."
